Bahamas Government Take Giant Leap Towards Embracing Stem Cell Industry

JamaicaObserver.com recently report that The Government of The Bahamas has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between 4 Institutions – the Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute, The Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami; The Public Hospitals Authority and The Ministry of Health – with the purpose of developing the stem cell industry in The Bahamas.

The agreement for consultancy services, was signed between leading stem cell expert Dr Joshua M Hare and the Ministry of Health. Dr Hare is a globally recognised pioneer in the field of stem cell production and has served as a member and co-chair of The Scientific Committee of the National Stem Cell Ethics Committee.

Mr. Perry Christie, Prime Minister of the Bahamas, cited the signing of the MOU as ?a very special day?.
